Biography

The Founder of GPM the Rev. Dr. Samuel Devadason, was a highly qualified Missiologists who spent his whole life equipping several young people to reach the un-reached people groups of our land. After the demise of the founder on 4-1-2004, Rev. R.M Dravyam stepped into his shoes.

The present General Secretary, Rev. R.M. Dravyam was born on 13th January 1939 at the South coastal town of Tuticorin, Tamilnadu. While studying in Intermediate Class under the then University of Madras in 1956, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. In 1957 started preparing for full time Christian Ministry. He was an active member of Union of Evangelical Students of India

After completing Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Political Science under University of Madras, he did his Master of Arts in Political Science in Bhagalpur University He trained himself in the Union Biblical Seminary, now in Pune, Maharashtra state completing his Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1963. He obtained the post graduate diploma, Student in Theology from the Arch-Bishop of Canterbury, UK in 1978.

He served as a Staff Worker of the Scripture Union in India for 7 years (1963–70). He was ordained as Presbyter of Church of South India, Madras Diocese in 1970 and took up Parish Ministry. He retired from the Pastoral ministry in June 2004 after serving many Churches and holding many positions – as Area Chairman, Secretary of the Ministerial committee of the Madras Diocese and Bishop’s Chaplain.

On the invitation of the General Body of the Gospel Partners Movement, he is serving as the Hon. General Secretary. His concern is to equip, encourage, nurture and challenge the Missionaries for fruitful ministry in the Mission Fields. He and his wife, Nalini Dravyam are blessed with two daughters witnessing in the secular world.
